This is Putah Creek Lodge, in the UC Davis Arboretum, sketched one lunchtime. It’s a short walk from the office. People don’t really lodge there, it’s just a good place for meetings or staff retreats, dinner events and so on. It feels out of the way enough though that you’re not in the bustling heart of campus, it’s a little more peaceful. I sketched in the shade while listening to a football podcast.
Klug, der Mond. Jeder trägt das Seine, jede das Ihre dazu bei, und dann geht’s also.
Ein stiller, feiner Mutmacher …
I’m impressed you can listen and draw at the same time. I need silence, easily distracted 😀
Oh no, I like the rhythm of noise. Conversation, that slows me down, but listening to voices, or music, or the world around me at large, is calming to me when I sketch. Football Weekly with James Richardson is very funny, too.
So I took a leaf out of your book and listened to Planet Rock radio while I worked yesterday. Headbanging at your desk not a good idea. Impressions of computer keys in forehead not a good look 😡
That’s why so many rockers used to wear headbands in the 80s, probably…
😂
If this were a calendar page, torn off its support and flapping in the breeze, which month would you say this is?
April, definitely.
