I draw this scene every six months, once in winter, once in summer. Each scene looks slightly different, and for more than just the changing seasons. This more than any other Davis scene is my ‘Mont St. Victoire’. (Incidentally I’ve actually climbed Mont St. Victoire, twice) I started drawing it one lunchtime a couple of weeks back, but ran out of time; then it rained solidly for a fortnight. So yesterday we had a day of sunshine, cold cold sunshine, and I got back out to finish it off. You’ll see it again in six months or so.
Anyway, here are the other ones. I can’t help myself:
Summer 2007:
How interesting to draw the same place repeatedly… It is a neat view to start, the sketches make it even more so. I am curious about your thoughts when you are drawing a scene you know so well. What brings you back?
cheers! Well what brings me back is boredom, not having much left that i want to draw at lunchtimes that’s close by work. This is quite an interesting scene, with that bizarre tree and those angled roofs.
I love all those scenes of the same place. It never gets old. A nice rendition of seasons. I love seasons and I love trees. You need to do a fall and spring. :D
beautiful work!

These are awesome. What a great project, such a great way to keep a chronicle.
