Yesterday was the 24th worldwide sketchcrawl. I went to the zoo in the morning, so my son could see the monkeys and, er, tractors, and afterwards I popped into Sacramento to do some sketchcrawling. Against my better judgement; it was so hot, and I had such a headache, that I only managed the one before wandering about and calling it a day.
This old building is on the corner of L and 15th, Sacramento.

It is a great sketch, headache or not.
I am so inspired by your pen/watercolor sketches I want to try your technique. I got myself a micron pen and will be getting a mini WC set in a short order. My sketching skills however do not amount to much. Perhaps you can suggest a book or a tutorial? It would be really great.

Cheers! I really like the tutorial given by martha at trumpetvine travels on how she sketches: http://www.trumpetvine.com/sketchblog/2007/09/20/sketching_demo/, I always found that useful. Also (though his techniques are different from what i use) danny gregory’s book “creative license” is a great and colourful read and very inspiring.
Thank you so much! This is most helpful!
