and when it’s cloudy we say nothing at all

two bins and a bench

Yes; lunchtimes are getting a bit uninspired. Did this at the silo today during lunch. I’ve not drawn this week, until this. I just had to get the sketchbook out and draw the first thing I saw: in this case, a bench and two bins. Moving very soon to a new apartment in exactly the same complex, and moving means mind occupied. Especially since AT&T (named after the galactic empire’s battle-transport du choix) tell us that, even though we’re moving less than a hundred yards across the parking lot, same address, our internet speed will only be a third what it is now. That is, as they say here, bullshit man. I wonder if it will take a third as long to look at my website? I hope not.

At least the weather has gotten a little cooler. It’s so much nicer here when it’s not so hot. Really nice, I mean. I know you have had shitty rain in England almost all summer; sorry about that. We’ve not had rain since I don’t know when. Clouds? What are they? I forget.

Moving, though. I hate moving. Ever.

entirely inspired by you, I have accepted a sketchbook in a Wandering Sketchbooks project at the hospital I work at. Unlike you I have really very little draughtsmanship talent at all, so am a bit feart as I expect it will be hard not to be put off when I remember how bad everything I put down on paper looks. Equally the sketchbook is huge and has to be returned by the 3rd of October- less than a month.

But I shall try. They do say artistic talent not required, and that the content need not be drawn. But I am going to go out at least one lunchtime on the next three weeks and draw. The point of this post was that I fear the Western General Hospital shall too prove to be a somewhat uninspiring place to draw and i don’t think i have the talent to even add any pretty colours to it. But we’ll see.

Oh and I’m sketchbook number 2. So I expect it’ll be dead easy to blend into the crowd of contributors at the end, right?

No thanks! A few weeks ago, when it was up in the 107s, perhaps. I tell you what though I did enjoy the two weeks of rain when i was back in the uk in may. It’s been far too dry here this year.
That wandering sketchbook project sounds like fun! the sketchbook project i did recently was so enjoyable, only a little sketchbook but just drawing everyday things and not worrying about grand scenes is really liberating. Everything is interesting if you take an interest in it, or something.
cheers joseph, i’m not looking forward to the move though. Moving across the atlantic was no worse than moving across the parking lot, like i’m doing now.
