We have had 100-plus degree heat in Davis for a few days now. It was 110 on Sunday. It’s that time of year. I hear there’s been a heatwave back in England? I dared to go outside at lunch, and drew the shade of a big tree.

Yep we’re having a heatwave. Not quite 100º but more like 90º. I seem to be one of the few people that isn’t complaining about it.
We had one last week, KC metro area, and I may have been the only person NOT using an air conditioner–just little black fans (sort of a take on little black dresses)–anyway–if you’ve got HOT now, I suspect we’ll get it as it moves across the country…eeagads..I so detest the sounds of ac’s all day long when it’s summer and there’s SHADE and a breeze…and yes, one can ‘smell the heat’–
